Overhead Video Rig

This equipment was purchased with my own money. Links on this blog may be affiliated which means I make a few pennies on the dollar if you purchase with them.
Over the last few weeks I have been working on an overhead video rig. Interested in setting one up for yourself? Checkout the items below to see what you need.

Lighting Rig - I highly recommend a COB light and soft box. I really like the lantern setup from Amaran.

You will need at minimum two C Stands. I recommend impact brand. They are heavy, reliable, and have an unlimited amount of uses. You can buy kits with these items already bundled.
A C stand knuckle will be vital to attach the grip arm. This allows you to select the angle in which the arm extrudes from the C Stand.

A grip arm will be absolutely vital to getting the overhead shot. https://geni.us/AOLaeR1

Here is the secret sauce - you will need a camera adapter and a pin with collar. Platform: https://geni.us/67vCF

I still have a lot to learn dialing in this shot. However I would be interested to know if you have any tips for me? Create an account and comment below!
