I recently picked this bag up for a few short trips down the coast to Universal Studios Florida. My wife and I are annual pass holders and a local airport has inexpensive flights down every week

Most of these flights are operated by economy airlines such as Frontier, and Allegiant airlines. As you know, with these airlines you get a singular personal item. Any more than that and you are paying very close to the cost of traveling with one of the major airlines. These trips are to be inexpensive getaways to one of our favorite places so we are booking on a budget to make a few trips down this year.

Other Options I considered

When I was searching for a good personal item bag I found recommendations for Cabin Zero bags, Peak Design, and Aer City Pack. All of these brands are fantastic (I have quite a few video reviews out on Peak Design, and my next video is on an Aer bag). However, the Osprey Daylite 26+6 caught my eye due to its price and large main compartment.

What I liked

The main compartment was huge. This bag did not waste space on unnecessary organization or construction bulk. With my packing cubes, I could easily pack 7 days worth of clothing. Albeit, most of my clothes are lightweight athletic gear - I am just visiting theme parks not hosting business presentations.

I also really enjoyed the small tech organizer that was built in. It had quite a few slots to put my headphones, cables, and charging bricks. I could pack my essentials and keep them organized without a separate tech bag.

Notably, this bag has a great expansion system! This is the whole '+6' in the product name. If you happen to over fill the bag you can release a zipper that gives you a solid 2 inches of extra width. I would not recommend doing this on an economy airline! Keep it compact and tight. You don't want gate agents charging you for a carry on at the last minute so they make a quick $10 spiff.

What I didn't Like

Honestly, there is not much that I dislike. I had to get the green colorway due to black being practically impossible to find. I would have loved to have the black version but green is just fine for the occasional get away.

Final Thoughts

Admittedly, this post is just a preliminary report on a single trip with the Osprey bag. I am working on a full review of this bag, but I need a few more trips under my belt to give a full review. I will likely film a full YouTube review in the coming months. I simply really enjoyed my first trip so I wanted to spread the word.

Must have addons for this bag

Below are some items I would highly suggest picking up if you go with this bag. It made the smaller size easier to work with and travelling a breeze. Note that these are affiliated marketing links.

Eagle Creek Pack-it Cubes: These things are a lifesaver for packing your clothes. Everything stays organized and compressed. A must have for personal item travel.

Gear Aid Hero Clip: This allows you to hang this bag off of anything. I LOVE this clip when hitting the restroom at the airport. There is nothing worse than placing your gear on the nasty airport bathroom floor. Simply hang it off the stall door even if the airport has neglected to fix their broken post.

I personally really like this bag and think it is perfect for quick getaway. Make sure you subscribe to my YouTube channel to know when I post the full review!
