NEEWER DL300
I recently picked up the Neewer DL300 Camera Dolly and wanted to share my experience.
AT THE TIME OF WRITING THIS THERE IS A $60 COUPON ON AMAZON. DON"T FORGET TO APPLY IT!
I have been wanting to pickup an inexpensive camera dolly to help improve my B-Roll shots. I didn't want to go down the route of a traditional slider due to the fact that they are so large. I also was finding in my research that the difference between an inexpensive slider and a real expensive one is quite intense. Afterall, this is just a hobby for me so I wanted to not break the bank.
The Pros
1. It is not super expensive. I think it has a low barrier to entry.
- It is fairly easy to get up and running without the ap.
- It is very portable. While it does have some heft to it, it can easily fit in your bag.
It can carry a pretty heavy payload. I could easily use my Sony A7IV + Cage + Monitor system and it had no problems. However you MUST use this on a smooth surface.
The Cons
1. It is very picky about what surface you use it on. Even on concrete that has some ridges from the anti-slip finish I could see very tiny bumps in the camera. However the onboard stabilization of my A7IV really smoothed this out.
- The App - it isn't great. It does what it needs to but it is fairly clunky. Honestly I just use the buttons on board.
Very short and sweet, but there isn't much to say here. If you are going to primarily use this on nice smooth surfaces, this could be a great option for you!
