Favorite Books and Tech of 2024

2024 is drawing to an end and I wanted to share with you my favorite things. I got this idea from the Tested YouTube Channel and was excited to make my own version.

This could be a killer shopping list for the person in your life who is into photography, books, and efficiency.

Too simple? I don't think so. This has been a revolution for myself. As I sit here typing this blog out I am using it. So, what is it? A timer.

A visual timer that allows you to turn the dial and set a time limit on a task. It has a battery in the back to allow you to use the optional audio indicator that time has run out. The beep is a bit too loud for me but I have to use it - so I have it tapped off with some gaff tape.

I can see out of the corner of my eye right now that I only have 40 minutes left to finish this task of writing this article. Off to the next!

DJI Mic Mini - A Creator's Dream

You can have crap video, you cannot have crap audio. If you want to start making content the only thing stopping you is yourself. Likely if you are reading this you have a modern phone to record on. If you want to up your game, pickup a wireless lapel mic to use with your phone.

DJI is a leader in this game. This is super simple and super tiny. It doesn't weigh down your shirt either - a huge plus.

If you have been on TikTok you have seen the hype around this... And.. It is worth it! This is honestly a studio in a can. A gimbal and very high quality camera on board. I have been using this for a ton of content. Want to upgrade from a phone camera? I would recommend this.

Grip & Lighting

Many of my favorite things fell into the grip category (attaching things to other things). Ulanzi has been killing it in the camera game so a few products are from them. They are self explanatory and I can vouch for their utility and quality. Lighting is thrown in here too!
